Mr. Kawamoto is experienced in complex commercial litigation, consumer fraud statutes, and environmental law. 

While an associate at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP in Los Angeles, Mr. Kawamoto worked on the successful defense of a Fortune 500 company against consumer class actions and trial and appellate litigation regarding California's Proposition 64, which amended the standing requirements for consumer fraud in California. He also worked on the defense of several major law firms in the professional liability context.  At Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP, Mr. Kawamoto has participated in the defense of a major financial corporation against claims brought by a foreign government, litigation regarding environmental indemnification under a multi-billion dollar purchase agreement, and efforts by Courtroom View Network to get cameras into federal court. 

Mr. Kawamoto received his B.A. with high distinction from the University of California, Berkeley.  He earned his J.D. from Yale Law School, and his L.L.M. with first class honors from the University of Cambridge, where he received the C.J. Hamson Prize for his paper on class actions. Before attending law school, Mr. Kawamoto was a Professional Staff Member on the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works and a Legislative Aide to Senator Lincoln D. Chafee.
